Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: a two-person married couple lives in an on-campus student home and provides care, mentorship, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse role: both spouses must apply
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- Desire to work in a residential youth-care setting
Additional Requirements
- Two-person marriage requirement: must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
