Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on campus in on-site student homes in Hershey, PA, and provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, accompanying students to Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role within a family-like home environment. The role is a two-person, married-couple position; both spouses must be legally married for at least two years and be 27 or older. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to obtain driver certification for student vans. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, along with comprehensive benefits. The salary is $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total compensation per couple) with on-campus housing, meals, utilities, and more.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- This is a two-person role for couples
