Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent couple living on Milton Hershey School campus; provide supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a placed Houseparent role living with the same students. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; role emphasizes a structured, family-like environment to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development. Requires HS diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs., and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with a two-year married partnership for both spouses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse employment applications completed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
