Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on-campus in student homes in Hershey, PA, and provide supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of approximately 8–13 students. The two-person, legally married couple delivers daily supervision, guidance, and support, administers medications, drives students to activities, plans and participates in developmental and recreational activities, leads daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversees budgeting and household reporting, and initially covers various student homes on a nine-on/three-off cycle before transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. The role requires experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus; relocation assistance and paid training are provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-year minimum marriage duration for both spouses
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying to Sunday Chapel
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to live and work with the same group of students in on-campus home
