Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents are a two-person married couple who reside in on-campus student homes to care for 8–13 students, providing supervision, mentorship, scheduling, medication administration, and transportation to activities. Responsibilities include daily supervision, budgeting and household reporting, planning and leading activities and devotions, and coordinating with a future Placed Houseparent role. The position operates on a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle with on-campus housing and includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits. Requires high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and both spouses must be legally married for at least two years and at least 27 years old. On-site housing is provided. Location: Hershey, PA. Salary: 44,768 per person (approximately 168,000 total per couple). Proselytizing prohibited; campus is smoke-free and weapon-free. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Residence on-campus in on-campus student homes with 8–13 students in a home
- Complete individual employment applications by both spouses
Additional Requirements

- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Must be 27 or older for both spouses
- No alcohol on duty on campus
