Full-Time Ophthalmic Technician

Job Summary

Conduct patient care under physician supervision by performing technical work-ups, motility evaluation, visual acuity, pupillary function tests, applanation, refraction, visual field testing, corneal topography, optic nerve and retinal scanning, tonometry, pachymetry, and other ophthalmic testing as needed. Communicate with patients regarding testing, follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, symptoms, and directing prescriptions with pharmacies while scribing and completing other duties assigned by the Supervisor. Maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and physicians, ensuring punctuality and dependability in a consistent Monday–Friday full-time schedule. Experience in a medical practice setting and EMR proficiency are preferred, with training provided for the right candidate.

  • Experience with data entry and working with an EMR
  • Availability that will remain full-time for the foreseeable future
