Job Summary
Direct and lead physical therapy treatment plans focused on alleviating pain, improving mobility, and restoring functional abilities tailored to individual patient needs. Evaluate each patient's physical conditions through comprehensive assessments using diagnostic tests, design and implement tailored exercise regimens including manual and non-manual therapy interventions, and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in executing therapeutic plans. Monitor patients' progress, make real-time adjustments to treatment plans, and prepare thorough clinical documentation ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate actively in interdisciplinary case conferences and instruct patients and families on therapeutic device usage. The role supports patients recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- Possession of a valid and active Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia, with a clean professional record free of sanctions or board proceedings
- A strong mastery of diverse manual therapy techniques
- A proven capability in developing effective exercise programs
- Experience in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) software, including proficiency in Web PT
- A comprehensive understanding of evidence-based physical therapy practices
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a rehabilitation setting, especially in outpatient or home care environments
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
