Job Summary
Nursing faculty member delivers assigned nursing courses (AS Program) at Ivy Tech in East Chicago, IN, using pedagogy and technology aligned to course objectives and program outcomes; develops and maintains curriculum and course materials; manages student records and classroom environment per safety standards; facilitates student achievement and uses Canvas LMS for teaching, assessment, and communication. Performs retention and student success activities, offers academic advising support, maintains posted hours, and engages in recruitment and program completion efforts. Participates in professional development, scholarly activities, and institutional and community outreach; supports accreditation processes, committees, and program management; ensures FERPA compliance and contributes to program data analysis for improving retention. Qualifications require RN licensure with at least 3 years of field experience; Indiana RN license; master's degree preferred (or progress toward one with a structured plan for those holding a bachelor's in nursing).
Required Qualifications
- Be a Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of experience in the field.
- Hold a current, unencumbered Indiana RN license.
- Preferably possess a master's degree in nursing. If you hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing, you’re still eligible if you complete a written academic plan to earn your Master’s degree and show continued progress toward your degree each semester.
