Job Summary
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming Museum environment through routine custodial care including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, surface cleaning, disinfecting, and trash removal. Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms and high-use areas while responding promptly to spills, accidents, and urgent custodial needs. Perform periodic deep cleaning of floors, carpeting, windows, glass, fixtures, and other surfaces using appropriate equipment and methods. Routinely inspect Museum spaces to proactively address cleaning needs and report safety or maintenance concerns. Organize custodial storage areas and communicate supply inventory needs to the supervisor. Assist with light outdoor seasonal maintenance, snow removal, and room setup or breakdown for meetings, rentals, and special events. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years prior experience in custodial or maintenance related roles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow and enforce established systems, processes, and procedures with consistency and accuracy
- Great attention to detail
- Adaptable and flexible
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Communicates effectively and interacts genuinely with people of all backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences
- Understands limits of own experience and knowledge and values diversity of thought in others
