Job Summary
In-home, in-person associate veterinarian role with Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice in the Richmond, VA area. Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care to pets and families, delivering flexible, mobile veterinary services with mentorship and ongoing support. Opportunity to practice medicine with purpose while maintaining a balanced life; includes onboarding, mentorship, and access to a 24/7/365 support center. Expect 3–4 un-rushed appointments per day across a 2–5 day workweek, with a focus on client communication, patient comfort, and meaningful family interactions.
Required Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent
- Licensed Veterinarian in good standing in Virginia or eligible for licensure in Virginia
- Experience with hospice and in-home veterinary care preferred
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to work independently and manage schedule
- Compassion and emotional resilience in end-of-life care
