Job Summary
Direct care professionals provide personal support and counseling within a 24/7 residential treatment setting for adults with mental illness. Responsibilities include contributing to a clinical team, assisting with daily living activities as part of treatment, monitoring residents, maintaining facility cleanliness and documentation, participating in program meetings, and ensuring safety and well-being. Required MHRT1 certification within one year, background checks, ability to work flexible shifts (including weekends/holidays), and physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Onsite Portland, ME position with an 40-hour full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment
- Must pass CNA registry check if MHRT is required
- Must pass criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check
- Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with lifting up to 25 pounds
- Good driving record; driving may be necessary to attend meetings/trainings or meet clients offsite
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Flexible schedule and weekend/holiday availability
