Job Summary
Mental Health Direct Care Professionals needed for Gordon Green adult residential program. Provide direct service in residential group care or transitional living; deliver personal support and supportive counseling to residents; participate in clinical teams using daily living activities as part of treatment; contribute to identifying residents’ needs including physical and mental wellbeing; assist with medication administration, milieu management, maintenance of facility/records, and participation in program staff meetings. Schedule is full-time (40 hours/week) with varied shifts; weekend/holiday availability required. Onsite location in South Portland, ME. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; MHRT1 certification within 1 year is required, with ongoing trainings to maintain MHRT1 status; strong communication/conflict resolution skills and ability to work in a team; background checks and driving eligibility are required; physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasional driving for meetings/trainings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in mental health preferred
- Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Flexible schedule
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must pass criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check
- Pre-employment physical and TB screen for residential or ECE employees
- Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with lifting up to 25 pounds
- Good driving record
