Job Summary
Answer telephones, monitor the waiting room, and assist patients with check-ins. Register patients, enter data, collect blood and urine samples, and record vital signs. Prepare patients for medical tests, ensure efficient patient flow, and interact with clinicians professionally. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality, verify payment documentation, and complete charge tickets. Fax, scan, file documents, and place orders for supplies. Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other administrative duties as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Certification/Registration as Medical Assistant
- 1-2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience with the use of electronic medical records system
- Proficiency with computers
- Basic math and literacy skills
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate well to patients and staff
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of occupational health a plus
