Job Summary
Evaluate, repair, and perform minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems in the building, including toilets, switches, lighting, and filter changes. Assist with general building maintenance repairs such as structural damage, window, door, or wall fixes, and handle carpentry tasks like prep and painting. Receive and complete work orders while maintaining accurate records on material and labor. Follow all safety requirements including lockout/tagout, use appropriate PPE, and safely replace lighting ballasts and lamps. Maintain good working order of the company vehicle and support the Preventive Maintenance program. Be prepared to work evenings, weekends, and on-call duty for emergency maintenance as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- One-year certificate from college or technical school, or one year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of one year experience working in a maintenance role
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, lighting and electrical repair skills
- Ability to lift / move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to carry, extend and climb ladders safely
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and follow oral and written instructions
- Must be prepared/available to work evenings and weekends as assigned
- Willingness to share on-call duty for emergency maintenance
- Ability to safely replace lighting ballast and lamps
- Follow all safety requirements including lockout/tagout and use appropriate PPE
- Ability to deal tactfully, effectively and courteously with co-workers, management and our customers
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees and clients in a pleasant manner
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in a exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Ability to work with tools and supplies necessary to complete tasks/projects
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building(s)
- Ability to prep and paint
- Ability to effectively lead and coach others
