Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care facility and supervise nursing assistants to ensure high-quality care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. Responsibilities include directing day-to-day nursing activities, ensuring compliance with policies, planning shifts and services, maintaining nursing service manuals, and collaborating with other staff. Administer medications as ordered, verify resident identity, and manage narcotics records. Chart and document care plans, patient responses, and relevant communications; participate in QA activities and facility surveys; coordinate discharge planning and ensure continuity of care. Lead and develop nursing personnel, ensure adherence to safety and infection-control procedures, and supervise the nursing team to uphold quality care for residents. Requires the ability to supervise nursing staff, manage documentation, and maintain regulatory compliance; licensure as an LPN is required.
