Job Summary
Provide general nursing care to patients, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and maintain exam room cleanliness and supplies. Prepare equipment for physician examinations, observe and record patient conditions, and report reactions to drugs and treatments. Greet patients, screen them for appropriate information, instruct on sample collection, and maintain confidential patient records. Respond to incoming treatment-related phone calls and refer patients as needed. Dispense medication as directed and educate patients and families on diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance. Ensure appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Current nursing license
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds
- Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, writing instruments, PC, fax and medical equipment including stethoscope, EKG machine, ear washing equipment, speculums, scales, blood pressure cuff
