Job Summary
Direct and implement tailored physical therapy treatment plans for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain. Conduct comprehensive evaluations using diagnostic assessments, administer therapeutic exercises and manual therapy, and evaluate home environments for rehabilitation modifications. Oversee physical therapy assistants, develop and adjust care plans based on patient progress, and fit or modify prosthetic and orthotic devices. Maintain accurate clinical records and engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient strategies. This role focuses on outpatient rehabilitation services at Saint Vincent Orthopedic and Sports Center in Saint Petersburg, Florida, supporting a diverse patient population from amateur athletes to post-surgical adults.
Required Qualifications
- A completed Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program
- An active, unencumbered license to practice physical therapy in the state of Florida
- A solid foundation in manual therapy techniques
- A demonstrated ability to develop effective exercise programs
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly Web PT
- Up-to-date knowledge of physical therapy practices and techniques
- Current research knowledge in physical therapy
