Job Summary
Conduct thorough patient evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans and set clear, achievable goals using evidence-based practices. Maintain precise records of evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries while supervising Physical Therapy Assistants and supporting personnel. Collaborate regularly with a multi-disciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists to ensure comprehensive care and evaluate therapeutic intervention effectiveness. Identify areas for departmental improvement and implement evidence-based solutions to support staff technical guidance. Serve a diverse patient population recovering from surgical procedures, acute injuries, chronic conditions, and neurological disorders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
- A current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a full-time physical therapy setting
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Familiarity with word processing and computer applications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a rehabilitation center or a hospital setting
- Specialized training or certification in areas such as geriatrics, sports medicine, or orthopedics
