Job Summary
Licensed Mental Health Therapist needed in Northern New Jersey to provide in-home and center-based therapy for youth with mental health disorders. Role includes mentoring newly hired therapists and interns, delivering individual, group, telehealth, and outpatient services, conducting bio-psycho-social assessments, developing treatment plans, teaching coping and anger management skills, and collaborating with the treatment team. Must hold a master’s degree in a related field, active NJ license, and minimum 5 years of post-licensure experience with youth. Telehealth components and home visits are involved; option to train for assessments; strong emphasis on evidence-based practices and DSM-V knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
- Active license in New Jersey (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC, LSW, LFT); candidates with out-of-state licenses may be considered if reciprocity applies
- Minimum 5 years of post-licensure clinical experience working with youth with mental health disorders
- Experience mentoring, supervising, or training junior therapists and interns
- Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Some training or willingness to complete Crisis Intervention Training
- Experience with treatment planning, progress notes, initial assessments, and goal setting
- Proficiency in counseling approaches such as CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care
- Knowledge of DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Experience providing positive behavior supports
- Prior experience working with children ages 3-20; experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) is a plus
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- A pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role.

- State Reciprocity considered, but candidate must be within 25–30 minutes of service areas
- Availability during after-school hours (12 PM–8 PM); weekend flexibility is a plus
