Job Summary
Intervenor to support people who are deafblind in East Danforth, ON. Responsibilities include assisting with communication and daily living to promote independence, using various communication techniques, facilitating participation in activities, providing personal care as needed, supporting goal development and program planning, ensuring accurate documentation, and contributing to program development. Requires ASL or Signed Exact English, a valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle access, and ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check. Training provided in-house; benefits include health spending account, sick days, RRSP matching, and education-reimbursement opportunities. Full-time, 36-40 hours/week with varied shifts (days, afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends). Experience with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and related human services fields is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or: Developmental Services Worker (DSW), Social Services Worker (SSW), Community Services Worker (CSW), Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA), Personal Support Worker (PSW), Behavioural Science, or a related human services field.
