Full-Time Housekeeper

Job Summary
Cleans and sanitizes residents' apartments and common areas by removing trash, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing baths and toilets, and cleaning glass. Replaces restocks supplies, deep cleans assigned areas, shampoos carpets, washes windows, and responds to residents' cleaning needs in a positive, timely manner. Prepares apartments for move-in, cleans up after accidents while maintaining resident dignity, and maintains equipment and supplies in clean, working order. Reports safety concerns, repairs, or problem areas to the Director and informs them of low supplies. Ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with Culinary Services, taking resident orders, providing drink refills, and assisting with dining room cleaning. Works every other weekend on a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess interpersonal skills to communicate with residents, families, visitors, and staff in a way that ensures the safety and security of the residents.
- Must have knowledge of housekeeping procedures and practices.
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise.
- Must be able to read and understand directions on cleaning solutions and equipment to avoid risks.
- Must be knowledgeable of the location of the MSDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines.
- Must have compassion and genuinely care for the elderly.
- Demonstrates a SERVANT heart and attitude by following our Mission Statement.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in housekeeping in a health care or hospitality service preferred.
