Job Summary
Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and improve functional abilities. Provide therapeutic interventions for activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding, while assisting with mobility, strength, and cognitive functioning. Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and home safety, then observe, record, and report patient progress to the supervising OT. Maintain accurate clinical documentation per agency policy and state/federal regulations, participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings, and ensure compliance with infection control and HIPAA standards. Travel to patient homes within the assigned geographic area, adhering to flexible scheduling that may include weekends or evenings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification as a COTA through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Washington
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of auto insurance
- Ability to work independently in a home health environment
- Frequent travel to patient homes
- Exposure to diverse home environments
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients as needed
- Flexible scheduling, including weekends or evenings
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in home health or related setting
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of Medicare home health regulations
