Job Summary
Develop and direct individualized treatment plans to prevent disability, relieve pain, and restore muscle function for clients. Conduct comprehensive evaluations using diagnostic tests for muscles, joints, and functional abilities. Oversee Physical Therapy Assistants and ensure effective implementation of prescribed care plans. Provide in-home therapy services including manual exercises and physical agents like heat and cold. Assess home environments to increase client independence and instruct families on equipment use. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in case conferences to refine care strategies. Prepare clinical records including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Work Monday through Friday in client homes with a valid Virginia PT license and driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- A valid PT license in the State of Virginia
- Current CPR certification
- A valid driver's license
- Automobile insurance
Desired Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
- Experience in home care or acute care settings
- A track record of implementing innovative treatment strategies
- Strong interpersonal skills
