Job Summary
Head Cashier responsible for delivering SMART customer service at Lowe's, leading front-end checkout operations, and supporting store leadership. The role includes coaching and training associates, processing sales, returns, and refunds, managing cash handling and daily reconciliations, performing price checks and warranty inquiries, ensuring safety and security, and assisting customers with product selection and loading merchandise. Requires high school diploma or GED and retail cashier experience; supervisory responsibilities and ability to train others are expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement
- Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer
- Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology (smartphones/tablets)
- 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
- 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field (including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching)
- 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs (preferred)
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration if required by law
- Experience in maintaining cashier area, handling cash, and processing transactions
- Experience in customer service and handling returns or refunds
- Knowledge of price matching and product information
- Experience with loss prevention and safety procedures
- Experience with training and coaching store associates
- Experience with store operations and equipment usage
- Experience with basic merchandising and stock control
