Job Summary
Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register while providing SMART customer service and coaching associates on departmental duties. Manage register activities by removing security tags, verifying product information, and bagging merchandise, then prepare the register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies. Monitor cash drawer and recycler levels, conduct daily reconciliations, and inspect returned merchandise for damages. Assist with line vesting, open additional registers, and verify price matches or competitor pricing. Ensure store security by detecting shoplifting signs, monitoring merchandise movement, and communicating risks to management. Maintain a safe environment through daily safety reviews, hazard reporting, and compliance with housekeeping standards. Operate store equipment as needed and complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
Desired Qualifications
- 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 1 Year Experience as a head cashier
- Less than 1 Year Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Less than 1 Year Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched)
