Job Summary
Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using the cash register while providing SMART customer service and coaching associates on departmental duties. Verify product information, remove security tags, bag merchandise, and assist with line vesting to ensure efficient checkout. Conduct daily cash counting and reconciliation, monitor drawer and recycler levels, and inspect returned merchandise for damages. Verify price matches, enter customer orders, and submit loading tickets. Monitor store entrances for shoplifting risks and detect common signs of theft, communicating hazards to management. Maintain a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews, securing doors, and ensuring compliance with housekeeping standards. Operate store equipment including CCTV, copiers, and power tools as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
Desired Qualifications
- 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 1 Year Experience as a head cashier
- Less than 1 Year Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Less than 1 Year Retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting (e.g., merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, price labels switched)
