Job Summary
Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers while portioning foods, using techniques like chopping and dicing to assist with food preparation. Wash pots and pans, place menu items on the serving line, and monitor food temperatures to report unsafe conditions. Serve food according to recipes, disassemble serving lines, and discard or store leftovers properly. Remove garbage, assist in unpacking boxes, stocking storerooms, and pulling inventory items as assigned. Perform cleaning tasks, adhere to HACCP guidelines, and utilize proper hand washing techniques. Report to work at scheduled times with proper uniform and grooming. Participate in meetings, training sessions, and seminars as scheduled. Complete other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current TB test
- Food Handlers Certification
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Accurately count, weigh, and measure
- Follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks
- Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis
- Lift a minimum of 51 pounds to 33 inches occasionally
- Must work in a hot, humid environment
- Must work in a cold, or below zero environment for short period
