Job Summary
Implement lesson plans and provide instructional support while ensuring academic time integrity and motivating student participation. Manage classroom order and discipline, report student injuries or discipline issues immediately, and maintain a safe, respectful climate. Consult with administration to resolve concerns, incorporate available technology, and uphold the student conduct code. Operate computer technology as directed and attend to assigned non-teaching duties. Work cooperatively with staff and parents while making absent teachers aware of special situations. Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and comply with all building procedures and schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree/GED
- At least 21 years of age
- Completed two years of college (minimum 48 credit hours)
- Valid teaching license or eligibility for teaching license
- Prior successful work with children
- Experience in a public school system
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm manner
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students
- Ability to operate computer technology
- Flexibility to work in a different classroom each day
Desired Qualifications
