Job Summary
Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on cars and trucks in a prototype environment by working off repair orders or leader instructions. Read, interpret, and follow service procedures while repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replacing parts. Maintain vehicle records by entering notes and service orders, and keep shop equipment operating through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and following operating instructions. Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up. This AM day shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday) includes overtime when needed. Candidates must have at least two years of diesel mechanic experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work independently. Valid driver's license and rolling toolbox required.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly
- Ability to operate shop equipment
- Good attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Own tools with rolling toolbox
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
- AM Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday, plus overtime when needed)
Desired Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Knowledge of vehicle alignments
- Knowledge of air conditioning (A/C) system repairs
- Knowledge of tire machines and balancers
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
- Certificate in Diesel Technology or related
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
- State Diesel Mechanic Certification(s)
