Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •High School Diploma or Equivalent
• •Nationally recognized Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician certification (CCHT) or equivalent
• •Current CPR certification
• •One year of clinical dialysis experience
• •Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and satisfactorily communicate in English
• •Strong technical/computer proficiency with laptops, tablets, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc.
• •Understanding of basic renal function and the consequences of renal failure
• •Basic knowledge of treatment modalities available to ESRD patients
• •Understanding and ability to perform the hemodialysis procedure according to Rendevor Dialysis policies and procedures
• •Ability to ensure all safety checks are completed before dialysis is initiated
• •Ability to monitor and record dialysis treatment parameters such as vital signs, weight changes, etc. and communicate information to licensed personnel
• •Demonstration of an understanding of sterile technique
• •Knowledge of and adherence to all Rendevor Dialysis policies and procedures for infection control and understanding of the hazards associated with failing to follow those procedures
• •Ability to perform thorough patient assessments, as evidenced by documentation and feedback to the licensed personnel
• •Ability to promote the education of patients and their understanding of their disease and its treatment
• •Ability to obtain blood samples and culture specimens as ordered and perform routine tests
• •Ability to administer oxygen as necessary by cannula or mask under direction of the nurse
• •Ability to participate in CPR as needed
• •Ability to wash machines, station area and chairs according to established procedures after each patient treatment
• •Ability to prepare daily dialysis logs and set-ups for each shift of patients as directed
• •Ability to prepare, record and file laboratory reports as directed
• •Ability to stock and order necessary blood work supplies, e.g., blood tubes, requisitions and envelopes as directed
• •Ability to maintain a neat and clean environment
• •Ability to perform all tasks necessary for the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of the unit including water checks, opening and closing of the unit, mixing bicarbonate and acid, bath distribution, maintenance of the water treatment system and assisting with stocking of supplies
• •Ability to participate in the IDT and QAPI committee and attend meetings as needed and/or requested
• •Ability to identify and report concerns, issues, and opportunities for improvement when identified
• •Ability to participate in performance improvement projects within licensure, certification, and scope of practice
• •Ability to participate in annual QAPI training and other continuing education, as assigned, and required
• •Ability to provide suggestions for alternate strategies for indicators not improving
• •Ability to assist in building and maintaining a facility/clinic culture of safety and quality
• •Ability to report errors and near misses so that steps can be taken to prevent recurrence
• •Ability to report any negative feedback, complaints, grievances from other staff members, patients, and families
• •Ability to use evidence-based guidelines and proper infection control practices
• •Ability to contribute to harmonious and constructive working relationships with all staff members to promote a positive and productive atmosphere
• •Ability to ensure the confidentiality of patient, employee, and company information
• •Ability to participate in self and/or peer evaluations
• •Ability to promote a teamwork approach by offering information, advice, and assistance to all unit staff members in a positive, courteous, and cooperative manner
• •Ability to communicate significant information to appropriate team members and document in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
• •Ability to check email at least weekly and respond appropriately and timely; uses company-provided email for all work-related email communications
• •Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality

• •Ability to work the full schedule which may range from five to fifteen hours per day, based on the unit requirements
