Job Summary
Operate company vehicles to deliver merchandise to customers in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local traffic laws. Load and unload packages and merchandise, perform daily vehicle checks for safe operating conditions, and reconcile manifests with deliveries. Provide assistance to customers to ensure satisfaction and complete full delivery ownership including picking orders when business needs dictate. Perform physical delivery functions involving frequent lifting of 50 to 75 lb. while navigating downtown traffic and adverse weather. Successful completion of Office Depot in-house certification program is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum 2 years' experience in related field
- Minimum 5 years of personal driving experience
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience making commercial deliveries
- Valid driver's license
- No moving violations in the past three years
- English language skills
- Ability to perform basic computer data entry functions
- Successful completion of Office Depot in-house certification program
- Ability to perform physical delivery functions, including bending and frequent lifting of 50 to 75 lb.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and implement detailed verbal and/or written instructions in a timely and efficient manner
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions
Desired Qualifications
- Level of Formal Education: High School diploma or equivalent education preferred
