Job Summary
Conduct daily care and assistance for residents, including administering medications, vital signs, and treatments while ensuring safety and dignity. Perform medication counts, order drugs from pharmacy, and document medical changes on MARs per physician orders. Support residents with activities of daily living, grooming, toileting, and meal service, including answering call lights and escorting to dining. Assist with cleaning, laundry, and basic maintenance, and promptly report incidents to Health Services Director, doctors, or families. Admit new residents, schedule appointments, and provide tours to potential residents and families. Maintain confidentiality and communicate positively with residents, staff, and visitors. Work full-time day shift with occasional weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in medication administration
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly and disabled
- Must be knowledgeable of the location of the SDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise
- Ability to work in stressful situations with residents, families, visitors, and other staff
- Must have knowledge and skills to administer medications safely
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Must be able to handle objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach
- Must be able to lift residents in excess of 100 pounds with assistance
