Job Summary
Set up medications, perform narcotic counts, and administer treatments while taking vital signs and weighing residents. Assist with activities of daily living including showers, grooming, and toileting, and escort residents to dining or laundry as needed. Answer call lights, document medical changes on MARs, and coordinate doctor appointments or family visits. Maintain dining room coverage by taking meal orders and resetting tables between meals. Perform basic cleaning, assist with falls, and provide tours to potential residents. Work day shift with occasional weekend or holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in medication administration
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly and disabled
- Must be knowledgeable of the location of the SDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise
- Ability to work in stressful situations with residents, families, visitors, and other staff
- Must have knowledge and skills to administer medications safely
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Must be able to handle objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach
- Must be able to lift residents in excess of 100 pounds with assistance
