Job Summary
Full-Time Culinary Cooking Class Instructor leads and hosts cooking classes, camps, and parties for kids, families, and adults across a busy schedule, including nights and weekends. Responsibilities include instructing classes, engaging guests in cooking and baking skills, creating a fun and consistent guest experience, ensuring event success from start to finish, supervising culinary assistants for larger events, handling setup and cleanup, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and providing first aid/CPR if needed. The role requires a self-starter with strong communication skills, the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, and comfort speaking to groups; prior culinary experience and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 pounds are needed. A formal culinary education or relevant restaurant experience is a plus, as is formal teaching experience. Location is Winston-Salem, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment and move quickly
- Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 45 pounds
- Be first aid/CPR certified
- Great communication skills with children
- At least one or more years of experience entertaining kids and/or adults
- Confident with a range of cooking and baking techniques and speaking in front of a group with an amplified speaking voice
- Natural curiosity and passion for food & culinary entertainment
- Eagerness to get your hands dirty
- Formal culinary education or relevant restaurant experience is a plus
- Be able to manage and supervise a team of culinary assistants for larger events
