Job Summary
Cook prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards and Trinity Health policies, reviews menus prior to preparation, coordinates services with other departments, and assists in serving meals to ensure timely, high-quality food service in a long-term care setting. The role emphasizes leadership in establishing production methods, maintaining dietary service areas, and ensuring safety, sanitation, and proper performance of duties, with opportunities for growth within a large Catholic health-care system. The position requires ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities, knowledge of dietary procedures, and collaboration with staff to deliver resident-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
- Must maintain sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties in dietary service areas
