Job Summary
Manage the accounting and financial reporting function for the Diocese of Beaumont, including investment, insurance, and collection funds, while overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Ensure internal controls are adequate, analyze financial data for inconsistencies, and streamline department workflows for the CFO. Coordinate the annual budget process, draft budget memos, and oversee the audit and financial review process with outside firms. Oversee daily cash management, prepare quarterly cash flow projections, and manage billing functions for major medical insurance funds. Submit payrolls for all parishes, schools, and contracted entities, and review Form 1099s. Serve as a liaison to the CPA firm for non-MPSA locations and attend Diocesan Finance Council and Catholic Foundation Board meetings. Maintain current knowledge of diocesan policies, accounting standards, and governmental regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of five years' experience in accounting
- At least five years of supervisory experience including management of accounting close procedures
- Strong financial software systems experience
- Demonstrated competence in computer software (MSOffice [Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, Teams], Adobe)
- Current valid Texas Driver's License
- Completion of Safe Environment Training and earning a certificate
- Knowledge and understanding of Catholic Church teachings, practices (ethics, traditions, procedures) and organizational structure
- Ability to travel throughout the Diocese
- Some late afternoon or weekend work
Desired Qualifications

- C.P.A.
- Two to five years Controller experience
- Experience with accounting and payroll software systems
- Catholic in good standing
