Job Summary
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a Baylor-position role at Elizabethton, TN, implementing the plan of care established by the OTR/L and physician. Responsibilities include quarterly resident screenings, carrying out treatment programs, modifying plans in collaboration with the OT, monitoring and reporting progress, assisting in reassessments and discharge planning, supervising Rehab Therapy Aides, educating staff and families, identifying equipment needs, ensuring proper documentation, coordinating in-services, attending required meetings, promoting the OT profession within the facility, and pursuing continuing education. Requires an associate degree in OTA, active state licensure, knowledge of AOTA ethics, supervision of aides, strong communication, and adherence to company policies and procedures, along with TB screening and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Must have an associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Must meet all certification and licensure requirements as established by the state and national board associations
- Active state license required
- Knowledge of AOTA code of ethics and role delineation
- Ability to supervise Occupational Therapy Aides
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competence in maintaining accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education activities
- Annual TB Gold Blood Test or questionnaire required
