Job Summary
Process customer transactions accurately using the cash register and POS system, handling cash, credit, and debit while following strict cash handling procedures. Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries over the phone, and support promotional activities by informing shoppers about current deals. Maintain a clean checkout area and assist with stocking shelves and inventory management to ensure product availability. Respond to customer needs with professionalism and courtesy in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential for our brand new store opening in Waterville, ME, where you will be the friendly face ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be over at least 21 years of age due to alcohol, tobacco and lottery sales
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Physically must be able to squat, bend, and turn as needed
- Lift 25 pounds
- Stand for long periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cashier or retail position is preferred, but not required
- Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail for accurate transactions
- Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in sales reporting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective customer interaction
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure
