Job Summary
Behavioral Technician to support children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center. Roles include providing non-physical, emotional, and behavioral support; implementing individual support plans; conducting functional assessments and ADLs; using redirection strategies; responding to crises with de-escalation; engaging clients in activities to support growth; attending case reviews and trainings; submitting visit notes promptly; following agency protocols; and working evenings with a 40-hour workweek. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. with no visa sponsorship, complete NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months, pursue RBT certification within 6 months, hold a NJ driver’s license, pass background checks and drug screen, and Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of evidence-based approaches for developmental disabilities and strong communication, listening, empathy, and organizational skills are required or beneficial.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates are encouraged to apply
- Pathways for Qualification Based on New Jersey Guidelines: If a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) by the BACB, you must at least have one year of supervised experience; If with a Bachelor’s degree in related fields, you must have one year of supervised experience; If HS Diploma or GED, you must have three years of supervised experience
