Job Summary
Behavioral Technician role in Hudson County, NJ, supporting children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center settings. Typically 40 hours per week with 2–4 hour evening shifts. Responsibilities include providing non-physical emotional and behavioral support, ensuring client safety, implementing strategies from each child’s Individual Support Plan, conducting functional assessments (ADLs), utilizing redirection strategies for behavioral concerns, submitting timely visit notes, responding to crises with de-escalation and safety measures, engaging clients in activity-based growth, attending case reviews and trainings, and adhering to agency protocols. Required certifications within 6 months (NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification and pursuing RBT), driver’s license, background checks, and willingness to undergo drug screening. Bilingual Spanish speakers encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates are encouraged to apply
- Pathways for Qualification Based on New Jersey Guidelines: RBT or BA/psychology/special education/social work with supervised experience; High School Diploma with 3 years supervised experience
