Job Summary
Behavioral Technician position providing non-physical, emotional, and behavioral support to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center. Roles include implementing strategies from Individual Support Plans, conducting functional assessments, using redirection strategies, submitting visit notes, responding to crises with de-escalation and safety strategies, engaging clients in activities to promote growth, attending case reviews and trainings, and following agency protocols. Requires NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months and pursuing RBT certification within 6 months, with 40 hours per week oftentimes in the evenings; bilingual (Spanish) encouraged. Requires valid NJ driver’s license and ability to pass background checks; potential sign-on bonus of $300. Deep emphasis on active listening, emotional intelligence, patience, and collaboration with families and teams.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen required
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates are encouraged to apply
- Pathways for Qualification Based on New Jersey Guidelines: If a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) ... at least 1 year of supervised experience OR if with a Bachelor’s degree in related fields, at least 1 year of supervised experience OR if High School Diploma or GED, at least 3 years of supervised experience
