Job Summary
Behavioral Technician to support children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center settings. Responsibilities include providing non-physical emotional and behavioral support, ensuring client safety and well-being, implementing Individual Support Plans, conducting functional assessments (ADLs), applying redirection strategies for behavioral concerns, submitting visit notes per guidelines, de-escalation and safety responses, engaging clients in growth-oriented activities, attending case reviews and trainings, and following agency protocols. Desired skills include active listening, empathy, communication (verbal and written), organization, teamwork, flexibility in a dynamic environment, familiarity with evidence-based approaches for developmental disabilities, and proficiency in client engagement and behavioral redirection. bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screening required
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates encouraged to apply
- Pathways for Qualification Based on New Jersey Guidelines: RBT with supervised experience OR Bachelor's degree with supervised experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of supervised experience in implementing behavior support plans
