Job Summary
Behavioral Technician in Bergen County, NJ providing non-physical, emotional and behavioral support to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center settings. Responsibilities include implementing Individual Support Plans, conducting functional assessments and ADLs, using redirection strategies, submitting timely visit notes, responding to crises with de-escalation, engaging clients in activities, participating in case reviews and trainings, and adhering to agency protocols. Requires evening availability, 40 hours/week, and strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills; bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates encouraged. Certifications required or pursued within 6 months (NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification and RBT tracking). Valid NJ driver’s license and successful background checks are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) encouraged to apply
- Pathways for Qualification Based on New Jersey Guidelines: one year of supervised experience for RBT with BACB, or one year for BA/psychology/etc, or three years with HS diploma/GED
