Job Summary
In-home veterinary hospice and euthanasia clinician for Lap of Love’s mobile practice. Practice medicine in pets’ homes across Richmond, VA and surrounding areas with a focus on compassionate hospice care, family-centered communication, and flexible 2–5 day schedules. The role offers mentorship, onboarding support, and opportunities for independent practice within a collaborative team, including varied schedule structures and potential for prorated compensation based on schedule. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality veterinary care, patient assessment during home visits, communicating treatment options to families, and providing emotionally meaningful end-of-life care in a home setting.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Virginia (or eligibility for licensure)
- Ability to perform in-home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families
- Strong communication and compassionate client care skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (mobile practice)
- Ability to work independently with mentorship and support
- Flexibility to accommodate 2- to 5-day work-week structures
- Experience in veterinary medicine (associate level)
