Job Summary
Associate Veterinarian needed for in-home veterinary hospice care with Lap of Love. Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care to pets and families in Newton, NJ and surrounding areas as a mobile veterinarian. Flexible 2–5 day-per-week schedules with un-rushed appointments (roughly 3–4 per day), mentorship and onboarding support, and a culture focused on balance, purpose, and well-being. Opportunity to practice medicine independently in a mobile/mobile-hospice setting, with emphasis on patient and family-centered care, and the ability to contribute to a compassionate end-of-life experience for pets. Preference for candidates who value professional fulfillment, flexible work-life integration, and ongoing professional development through mentorship and a supportive network.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed in New Jersey and New Hampshire (state-specific)
- Eligibility to practice veterinary medicine in the United States
- Experience in veterinary hospice or in-home care is preferred
- Strong client communication and compassion for families
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a support network
- Eligible for professional liability insurance
- Capable of performing humane euthanasia when appropriate
