Job Summary
As a Full Time Associate Veterinarian with Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice in Central Maryland, you will practice in-home, mobile veterinary hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families, operating with autonomy within a supportive, mentorship-rich environment. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient- and family-centered care, flexible 2–5 day schedules with an average of 3–4 un-rushed appointments per day, and the opportunity to balance professional fulfillment with personal well-being. You’ll join a community of veterinarians and support professionals, receive comprehensive onboarding and ongoing mentorship, and contribute to a practice model that prioritizes meaningful interactions, humane end-of-life care, and work-life balance. Compensation includes base salary with bonus opportunities, with 4-day and 5-day schedules offering distinct starting salaries in the Central Maryland market, and prorated compensation for 3-day and part-time opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Maryland
- valid and current state veterinary license
- ability to provide hospice and euthanasia care
- in-home/mobile practice experience preferred
- excellent communication and client education skills
- ability to work independently and manage flexible schedule
- compassionate patient care and emotional resilience
