Job Summary
As a Full-Time Assistant Store Manager, you’ll assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results, supervise day-to-day store activities, manage schedules, and identify training opportunities to develop and grow the team. You’ll participate in interviewing store personnel, communicate weekly updates and milestones, ensure inventory procedures and cash control are followed, maintain store cleanliness and signage, merchandise products to maximize sales, and assist with payroll, loss prevention, and budget goals. The role requires strong leadership, retail management experience, excellent communication, and the ability to train and develop employees while upholding company policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
- Prior management experience preferred
- Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Ability to establish goals, guide employee performance to ensure the quality and completion of work assignments
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Physical ability to stock merchandise and lift up to 45 pounds
- High attention to detail and customer service orientation
- Ability to develop rapport and trust with direct reports
- Education and Experience: Combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
