Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager responsibilities include assisting with supervising day-to-day store activities, developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results, communicating job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports, identifying training and development opportunities for employees, aligning with company strategy and core values, monitoring the competitive environment, providing product feedback, participating in store personnel interviews, communicating information effectively, ensuring inventory procedures and cash control policies are followed, resolving customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader, maintaining safety, hygiene, and signage, maintaining stock levels and merchandising, contributing to payroll and loss-budget management, supervising daily operations, ensuring timely completion of duties, and upholding company policies. Education and Experience notes High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, 3 years of progressive retail experience, and prior management experience preferred. Meets state/local requirements for alcoholic beverage handling.
Required Qualifications
- You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI

- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler and perform general cleaning duties to company standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail
- Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
