Job Summary
Verify patient identification using two identifiers and compare with assignment details before transporting patients, specimens, supplies, or medical equipment to their destinations. Ensure safe, timely, and accurate transport while utilizing proper body mechanics when lifting, transferring, or moving patients between wheelchairs, gurneys, and beds. Follow isolation precautions, check oxygen levels, secure IVs and drainage tubes, and notify nursing immediately if a patient's condition changes. Transport small equipment between departments, remove and bag soiled linen, sanitize transport equipment after each use, and report any equipment needing repair. Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality, and comfort while responding to emergency situations in accordance with hospital policy.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required
- Post-Offer Medical, Background Screening and Drug Test required
- Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Rotational Weekends
- 2nd Shift- 3pm- 11:30pm
- Physicians Regional- Pine Ridge in Naples, FL
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the janitorial industry a plus
- Medical cleaning a plus
- Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment is a plus
