Job Summary
Own features end-to-end by shaping solutions with product and design, building across the API and UI, and shipping to production. Lean into your specialism in backend architecture, data modeling, or frontend architecture to act as the go-to person on your team. Design and develop backend services using Python and Django, including data models and RESTful APIs, while building high-quality, reusable frontend features with TypeScript and React. Write clean, testable code with strong coverage across the stack and participate in code reviews to share knowledge. Monitor and maintain production systems to ensure reliability, performance, and security. This role is remote in Europe for a Full Stack Software Engineer at Wayflyer, a fintech company deploying over $6bn to businesses globally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python and Django (or similar frameworks like FastAPI or Flask)
- SQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
- API design
- Working proficiency in TypeScript and React
- Appetite to build product UI
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (especially GitHub Actions)
- Strong testing culture
- Solid understanding of version control with Git
- Understanding of security best practices and data protection
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities and proven track record of successful team collaboration
- Remote in Europe

- State management (e.g. TanStack Query)
- Design systems
- Experience in financial services, fintech and business-to-business organisations
